mother's day quotes, brunch recipes, and fitness tips (that actually work)
inspiration for your faith, tips for your fitness, and recipes for your family
Happy BeyondFit Friday!
Here's your latest B|F newsletter, where I share a little bit of faith, family, and fitness...
On the first Friday of every month, you can expect trainer tips, family-friendly recipes, motherhood must-haves, and more delivered straight to your inbox.
But first, you should know (I've said it before, and I'll say it again) I've had the privilege of helping thousands of B|F women transform their bodies — yet I’ve learned firsthand that no amount of training or nutrition will ever transform your heart... only Jesus can do that!
So whether it's recipes & workouts (cue the kale & the yoga pants), kid spam (proud mama) or the truth about where to find your peace and purpose, I hope that what I share is helpful & leaves you encouraged. I'm so grateful to be in your inbox.
I'm also so grateful for God’s gift of motherhood — today and every day.
I’m thankful for the boys who made me a “mom” and for the many generations of wonderful mothers in my life. I pray daily for the grace to follow in their footsteps. To my own mom and all of the amazing mamas out there: Happy (almost) Mother’s Day!

Motherhood Reminders
Motherhood is one of the most meaningful (and humbling!) roles we’ll ever walk through—but let’s be honest, it’s not always easy.
Some days feel light and joy-filled. Others are messy, loud, and leave us questioning everything. I often have to remind myself that my child’s entire future doesn’t rest on me orchestrating every moment perfectly. Maybe you can relate?
Especially around Mother’s Day, I like to pause and reflect. I come back to a few favorite quotes—words that have stayed with me through different seasons of motherhood. They’ve helped me let go of the pressure, embrace grace, and focus on what really matters.
Here are just a few reminders I’ve returned to again and again over the years—simple truths that encourage me to keep showing up, even on the hard days. . .
“Successful parenting is not about achieving goals (that you have no power to produce) but about being a usable and faithful tool in the hands of the One who alone is able to produce good things in your children.” ― Paul David Tripp, Parenting
"My child’s entire future is not riding on my ability to perfectly orchestrate their footsteps. God’s Plan > My Parenting." ― Jeannie Cunnion, Mom Set Free
“Your hope as a parent is not found in your power, your wisdom, your character, your experience, or your success, but in this one thing alone: the presence of your Lord." ― Paul David Tripp, Parenting
I need these motherhood reminders daily—maybe you do, too?

Top 5 Fitness Tips for Moms (That Actually Work)
Is anyone else overwhelmed by the “good” health advice on social media lately?
“Cut carbs!” “Do HIIT every day!” “Try intermittent fasting!” “Only eat between 11–7!”
Tap here for just some of the noise flooding your feed.
In a world where everyone seems to be shouting the next best “fix,” it’s easy to feel confused—or worse, like you’re doing it all wrong. The truth? You don’t need another trendy hack. You need clarity and a plan that works with your real life.
From postpartum recovery to perimenopause and beyond, these are the real-deal basics that work—no matter your age or stage:
1. Calorie Deficit (But Make It Sustainable)
Fat loss comes down to one core principle: you have to burn more than you consume. But this doesn’t mean starving or obsessing. It’s about finding a gentle, consistent deficit that supports your energy and lifestyle. I can help you find that sweet spot—without cutting out your favorite foods with a simple + structured weekly meal plan.
Action Tip: Start by tracking your meals 2–3 days this week. Notice your portions, snacking habits, and where a small tweak could make a big difference.
2. Prioritize Protein
Protein helps repair muscle, keeps you fuller longer, and even burns more calories during digestion. It’s your best friend when you’re trying to tone up, stay energized, and curb cravings.
Action Tip: Aim for 20–30g of protein per meal. Easy ideas: eggs + Greek yogurt for breakfast, chicken or salmon with veggies at lunch, protein shake after your workout.
3. Strength Training > Everything Else
You don’t need long, punishing workouts. Just 2–3 total-body strength sessions per week can build lean muscle, increase your metabolism, and protect your bones and hormones as you age. It’s never too late to start laying down the foundation for success that will pay off in the years to come. Need some help? Let's make strength training a sustainable part of your routine.
Action Tip: Short on time? Try 3x30-minute sessions a week. I can send you a free strength training plan to get started—just reply and ask!
4. Don’t Skimp on Sleep
Lack of sleep messes with your hormones, increases cravings, and lowers your motivation. It’s that important. Your workouts and nutrition won’t work as well if your body’s running on empty.
Action Tip: Set a screen curfew and aim for 7–8 hours. Even 15–30 minutes earlier to bed makes a difference.
5. Cardio: Use It Wisely
Walking, hiking, or a little HIIT has its benefits, but cardio alone won’t give you the toned, fit look many moms are after. In fact, overdoing it can backfire. Not sure what’s best for you and your goals? I'm happy to help you find the right balance and incorporate cardio smartly into your routine.
Action Tip: Think of cardio as a complement—not the main event. Daily walks + 1–2 short intentional cardio sessions a week are plenty.
The Bottom Line
You don’t need to do everything—you just need to focus on the right things.
If you’re ready to cut through the noise and build a simple, sustainable routine that fits your life, I’m here for it.

Friday Favorites | Mother’s Day Edition
A few of my favorite things I’ve been loving this week...
Aura Frames // This year, I’ve been thinking a lot about how to celebrate the moms in my life—the ones who’ve cheered me on, prayed for me, and loved me in every season. And while flowers fade and brunch ends too soon, photos… photos stay with us. That’s why I’m gifting Aura frames this year—to myself and to all the special moms I love. BEYONDFITMOM for $40 off my favorite Carver Mat frame. . . It's a better offer than they have on their website right now!
Mahjong Mama Glow Up / / I finally upgraded from my basic Amazon mahjong set to this gorgeous new tile & mat set . . . and I’m in love! It’s chic, durable, and makes every game feel a little extra special. Whether you play with fellow mahj mamas or as a family, this is such a fun (and pretty!) way to create memories together. With Mother’s Day around the corner, it’s the perfect gift idea for the moms in your life who love a little friendly competition and quality time.
Travel Mahjong Set // We just took my favorite travel mahjong set with us to the mountains for spring break, and it was perfect. I got the mat to go along with it and I’m officially ready to play mahj anywhere and everywhere this summer, too! This set is perfect for mahj mamas—tested to resist fading from chlorine, saltwater, and even sunscreen. Whether you’re poolside, on the porch, or beach-bound . . . game on.
