Hi Kate!! I’m 42 years old. I developed DR and an umbilical hernia with my second baby, 15 years ago. I’ve had two babies since then, and my last pregnancy was almost 9 years ago. Is it too late for me to do this program?! I just met with a general surgeon a month ago to see about getting the UH and DR fixed, as well as getting info on a tummy tuck (all of that being done at the same time). I’ve never found a program that would address these things, until now. I found you through Rachel Reeves’ Here are the Headlines when you wrote your series of articles for her this summer. Absolutely LOVED them!!!
Hi Ashley! I’m so glad you found me through Rachel! And no, it is absolutely not too late. I’ve worked with many women who are years (even decades) postpartum and have seen incredible improvements in their core function, strength, and quality of life. Every situation is unique, especially when an umbilical hernia is involved, but consistent core rehab can definitely help.
Even if surgery ends up being your decision, proper core training both before and after is super important to help women prepare and recover well afterward.
Feel free to email me. I’d love to hear more and help however I can!
Thank you so much for your response! I never thought about it being g beneficial even if I did decide to have the surgeries to fix those things. I will definitely be reaching out! Thank you again for your help!
Absolutely! Even if you decide surgery is the right path, having a stronger core, better breathing mechanics, and improved muscle function beforehand can make a big difference in both recovery and long-term results.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’d be happy to answer any questions and help however I can! I’ll be praying that the Lord will grant wisdom and guidance for you!
